All the Things We Love About SunFest 2017

Sunfest 2017There are lots of things to love about living and working in West Palm Beach, but one of the best has to be our annual food, art, and music festival on the waterfront, SunFest! This year, SunFest runs from May 3rd to May 7th, 2017. Here’s the low-down on all the things we love about our iconic 5-day festival!

Location, location, location…of SunFest!

The festival is local, and it’s only a short Uber ride from our office. It’s also easily accessible from just about anywhere in Florida. Being only 65 miles north of Miami, 45 miles north of Fort Lauderdale, and 180 miles southeast of Orlando, SunFest is worth the drive. Just take Okeechobee Blvd. in West Palm Beach east, and follow the many options for parking.

With over 50 different performers, there is a little something for everyone. You can browse the food, the booze, and the local art and artists that come from all over the country on the banks of the intracoastal.

Top artists are always on the schedule

What makes SunFest a unique experience is that so many different artists attend the festival and perform all different types of genres. Some big names on this year’s lineup include: Blink 182, Weezer, Macklemore, Snoop Dog, Ziggy Marley, 3 Doors Down, Fetty Wap and so many more.

There are three stages set up along the intracoastal on Flagler Drive with different artists performing simultaneously on different stages, along with a party barge on the intracoastal! (21 and over). So make sure you check out the schedule and plan your day accordingly based on the kind of music you like, and who you want to see.

Children of all ages are welcome and children 5 and under are admitted free. The firework show will be held on Sunday night to close the annual festival. The fireworks can be seen for about 15 miles in all directions, if you happen to not be at SunFest the last day, but live close!

Don’t forget the local events outside of SunFest, too!

The whole city of West Palm gets in on the act when SunFest rolls into town! Many of our favorite restaurants and bars on Clematis throw parties leading up to and the days of SunFest. Find drink and food specials, and if you’re into late nights, lots of clubs open up each night of the week.

Into running? Check out the TGi5Kwhich happens on Friday at 5:30 p.m. The 5K ends at the gates of SunFest, where a huge after-party for runners is thrown every year. Your entrance into the 5K gets you a ticket into SunFest, too, along with lots of other goodies.

If you’re into food and drinking (hand goes up here!) the Pairings Food and Wine Festival is another great SunFest event. It’s a tour of local food and drinks on Thursday, May 25th, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and tickets are only $25. A portion of the proceeds benefit a local non-profit. Tickets to Pairings can be purchased here.

Here’s your ticket prices this year:

  • 1 day pass: $41 to order your ticket online and $47 to buy it at the gate.
  • 2 day pass: $61 to order your ticket online and $72 to buy it at the gate
  • 5 day pass: $81 to order your ticket online and $92 to buy it at the gate.
  • 1 day Parking: $12
  • 5 day Parking: $48

For those interested in hotel options, the Hyatt Place in Downtown West Palm Beach is a sponsor of SunFest and the closest hotel to the festival gates. Another hotel that sponsors the festival is The Marriott, also located in downtown West Palm Beach.
